![]() ![]() By chance, your sample may have just not gotten to us with enough total DNA! This happens every once in awhile with a collection and a retest almost always does the trick.Us having confidence in your result is just as important to us as it is to you! There may have been a very small amount of contamination during collection and we want a second peek for accuracy. The sample may have had a slightly lower volume (If you collected a volume smaller than the 500μl we ask for, please still send this in! Most smaller samples are still successfully processed). Our 30 day preservative solution may not have distributed enough to get into all of the nooks and crannies in your vial after closing the tube up and mixing (for any sample, the best way to mix after shutting the tube fully is by rotating the sample gently starting from all the way upside down to all the way right-side up ten times). The sample may have clotted (some clotting is normal, though a bit of extra clotting throughout the vial may make it tricky for us to separate the DNA to analyze fully). Here are some reasons we may not have been able to pull enough total DNA to confirm a boy or girl result with the first try: We always have two SneakPeek lab technicians process samples, so we'll only ask for a retest if we're 100% sure the first vial didn't yeild enough total DNA info to tell one way or the other. When we send an inconclusive sample update email, it's because our team wasn't able to pull enough total DNA from your first vial to tell. We understand this is a difficult situation and time, and are continuing to ensure all products sent to our customers are fully sanitized, sealed, and safe to use.įirst, we assure you this doesn't mean anything is wrong! We may just need a second look. ![]() Of course, we’re watching out for the health of our team members, especially those sending packages to our customers, and encouraging anyone experiencing cold or respiratory illnesses to stay home and rest. Due to the nature of our product which requires it to be free of contamination from outside sources of DNA, we have always ensured our products are fully sterilized and hermetically sealed before being sent to our customers, and continue to do so with rigorous QA standards. SneakPeek products are shipped from San Diego, California, and are manufactured in North America.
