![]() ![]() ![]() My official introduction to writing was a summer class I took with a friend when I was about 10 years old. When did you first start writing? What do you enjoy about it? It’s a wonderful part of the country to call home, although I do miss my home state Alabama! I am originally from Tuscumbia, a small town that is near the Tennessee River and right next to the more well-known town of Muscle Shoals. We absolutely love living in North Carolina-our home is about two hours from the East Coast and its beautiful beaches and about two hours east of the Blue Ridge mountains. We are members of The Summit Church in the Raleigh/Durham area, where we serve in various ministries like the prayer team and the kids’ ministry. ![]() I am married to Tony Higgins, who serves as a biblical counselor and executive director of Bridgehaven Counseling and Associates. My position provides many opportunities to serve and teach female students and it is my desire to encourage women to grow in Bible knowledge and theology so they can disciple women in the church well. I also wear a few other hats at the seminary, like assisting the provost of our institution as associate dean of Graduate Program Administration, as well as serving on the leadership team for the Society for Women in Scholarship. My name is Julia Higgins and for the last four years, I have served as assistant professor of ministry to women at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS). *Video access will remain as long as this study is in print. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? If you need videos to show in a small group study, please purchase the Video Streaming - Group option if available. The Bible Study Book + Streaming Video Access is only meant to be viewed by the person who purchased it. May we be found faithful witnesses to God's goodness in the next chapter. With this hope in Christ, we remember that God's not done writing our stories. The faithful men and women of the Bible and in our lives are always meant to point us to Jesus-the only perfect man that's ever lived. Just as the heroes of the faith like Elijah, the people around us aren't perfect. Elijah will go on to live, and sadly, many of his later actions fall short of obedience to God.
